We've moved

We are moving again. Change is good, right? We have moved 8 times in our 11 year marriage. Opposites attract and frankly my ancestry.com says I may be part gypsy. We are purchasing a home for the first time and well, it does feel a bit "permanent." We can always move and rent it out, I say. We are in the process before the process of the actual U-Haul phase. We are packing and sorting.....
Upon our sorting.. I am pleasantly pleased to find my Typing Proficiency certificate from 1998. What an achievement!! I did it for a better possibility for getting a better job. This was back in the day when you had a choice between "electric" or "manual" typewriter. Google "typewriter." I chose "electric" which was a bit risky as very sensitive and we know those errors count against ya. It was a 5 minuted timed writing. I'm sure I did it at least five time and have the thick rice paper printout with my accomplishment. My name is even typed in with ALL CAPS. This was also pre-"the all caps equal angry" stage of technology. It is also John Hancocked (signed) by TWO people. So...to toss or not to toss?
During moving you find many oddities when sifting through your belongings. One thinks they are a minimalist (or semi-wanna be minimalist) in my case. I've also found:
  • Hand Painted cow earrings- (not my artwork)
  • a Sedona, AZ guide to the outdoors,
  • 4 vitamin B tablets to place back in the bottle
  • a leather bookmark from England
  • Address labels (with current address)...useless, but we cannot toss because they have "golf stuff" on them (hubby's issue)
  • 17 fishing poles (we went fishing last year once...but caught 17 fish)
  • our faux Julius Cesar plant...which is now in the "thrift" pile:)
  • a VHS head cleaner
We constantly "sift" through our belongings and are proud donors at our two favorite thrift shops...The Cancer Thrift and the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society.   We feel that we are clutter tacklers normally. Nobody would know that our Harry Potter Closet is Jenga stacked with miscellaneous items. Admittedly, we still have "schtuff" though. I guess I may also be slightly guilty of also shopping at these two local thrift stores. Hey!! It's for a good cause:)
