We have a nicey not pricey grocery store near us,
you know, the one with the "cool middle aisle."
That middle aisle saved my hubby in a "present pinch" at Christmas, by the way.
I grab some roasted tomato tortillas (wraps) and some blackberries before I reach the glowing cabbage. Wow!! What a deal, Neal. I'm trying to like cooked cabbage and sprinkle into our diet. I'm not a sauerkraut fan, for the record, though.
I sweep around the outside of the modest sized store. I know most aisles by heart now, however I still must "hard stop" at the cheese section. I may never know what I'm missing if I don't. I'm just looking. Smoked Gouda, where have you been all my life? I have conversations with myself, hopefully not out loud about...don't buy it, keep moving, mmm, that'd be great on a sandwich. I skip past the cheese this time. Thank you to the God of Will Power. I'm just here for cabbage and q-tips, I remind myself. Got the q-tips, yes!! So I round the corner and zip past the almost free eggs, the meals in 2 minute section and voila! I made it to the cashier. I toss in 4 bags of snack size pistachios and I'm on my way!!
