Wintry Mix/ Finely Chopped Slices#18436789

December 2008

Wintry Mix. What kind of weather prediction is this? I've just been informed of what this description is.

-Rain and snow and cold
-There is sleet (rain and ice) and hail (chunks of ice falling from the sky..bb size to softball)
-And last but not least...If it's bad, it's gonna happen.

This was a forecast in the Ohio area of the USA today. Oh, help me.

Um, okay I don't care for hot summers and I really did think I liked cooler weather, but I just froze my toes off checking the mail yesterday (here in SoCal). Today I wore covered shoes. Well sort of. I have my scarf in tow. I love wearing those. So fun and accessorieish. I recall once visiting Ohio and wanting to be "valet"ed at the Walmart (say with Jeff Foxworthy accent). It was just too frigid to walk from parking spot to front entrance. Cold hurts at times and I am smarter than a 5th grader. I probably wasn't wearing true warm weather gear but nonetheless.

I've recently not even wanted to walk out into the garage to switch the clothes from washer to dryer (no maid, no mo). Ew and dry skin, that's a whole 'nother forecast.

Have a warm Day.

Microwave (not recommended)/ Finely Chopped Slices # 3928

September 2008

If it is not recommended that one use the microwave for the proposed dinner, lunch or breakie item, why post the directions of us on how to cook in the microwave? If it's recommended not to do, why list the details on how to do the not recommended cooking instructions? I just don't get it.

Let's say if it probably won't taste best "if cooked this way" then why give explicit instruction? I've read the three different ways of preparing the item and decide that number one is best. Traditional. Traditional always seems to thrive in our household. One pan versus two. Oh yeah!!!! I'm not very good at loading the dishwasher anyway.

I saute, I boil. Finito.

Potstickers. Mmmmmm! Ready to eat.

Ling Ling.

Nice and Saucy/ Finely Chopped Slices #429429

November 2008

Well, just me minding my own business and the next thing I know, I'm in a modest soul food restaurant eating a (free) meal. It wasn't exactly a meal but a colorful experience anyway. I stopped in this local eatery to grab a menu. Bill is a big "rib" fan and well it seems I frankly just lack in the rib making department. I have reheated some already prepared rib before, don't get me wrong. Seems Bob of Bob and Boy's BBQ wanted me to try their food. He asked his wife to "give her a taste." She did, replying that she has to do what she's told. Cute funky couple from Louisiana or Mississippi. I ate the rib (was trying to use my plastic fork and knife) when the wife mentioned "not to be shy in front of her" and that I can't use a knife and fork. Okay, I thought here's my real chance to show my inexperience eating a nice and saucy rib. Hold both ends, dive in. Oh, good, there's an extra napkin. I'm the only one at the counter (other seating is only two tables). I've never really cared for stuff with bones in it. Just a psychological thing. I'm a picker. I can do a drumbstick, but usually leave alot left on the bone. So there I am under the spotlight sloshing up this rib. Like a total foodie from TLC, I say "very good." The candied yam was quite tasty as well. They handed me a menu and I'm on my bbq ribby way. So glad I carry handy wipes with me.

Have a Saucy Day!!!!
