November 2008
Well, just me minding my own business and the next thing I know, I'm in a modest soul food restaurant eating a (free) meal. It wasn't exactly a meal but a colorful experience anyway. I stopped in this local eatery to grab a menu. Bill is a big "rib" fan and well it seems I frankly just lack in the rib making department. I have reheated some already prepared rib before, don't get me wrong. Seems Bob of Bob and Boy's BBQ wanted me to try their food. He asked his wife to "give her a taste." She did, replying that she has to do what she's told. Cute funky couple from Louisiana or Mississippi. I ate the rib (was trying to use my plastic fork and knife) when the wife mentioned "not to be shy in front of her" and that I can't use a knife and fork. Okay, I thought here's my real chance to show my inexperience eating a nice and saucy rib. Hold both ends, dive in. Oh, good, there's an extra napkin. I'm the only one at the counter (other seating is only two tables). I've never really cared for stuff with bones in it. Just a psychological thing. I'm a picker. I can do a drumbstick, but usually leave alot left on the bone. So there I am under the spotlight sloshing up this rib. Like a total foodie from TLC, I say "very good." The candied yam was quite tasty as well. They handed me a menu and I'm on my bbq ribby way. So glad I carry handy wipes with me.
Have a Saucy Day!!!!
